چکیده

Using recognition moieties that bind to the inner co-ordination sphere of a monomeric DO3A-type di-aqua complex, dimeric poly(aminocarboxylate) gadolinium(III) compounds can be formed with greatly enhanced relaxivities, arising from optimized contributions of inner- and second spheres of hydration.

Relaxivity modulation in Gd-functionalised mesoporous silicas.

Two hybrid materials based on mesoporous silicas SBA-15 and MCM-41 functionalized with stable and electrically neutral Gd(iii) macrocyclic complexes were prepared, and their (1)H NMR relaxometric properties investigated as a function of temperature and magnetic field strength.

Responsive, di-metallic lanthanide complexes of a piperazine-bridged bis-macrocyclic ligand: modulation of visible luminescence and proton relaxivity.

The synthesis of a new functionalised bis-macrocyclic ligand (L1) is described together with the corresponding Ln(III) complexes, Ln(2)- (Ln = Gd(III), Eu(III)). Phosphorescence measurements on Gd(2)- at 77 K allowed the ligand-centred triplet state ((3)pi-pi*) to be estimated at ca. 28500 cm(-1). Steady state and time-resolved measurements confirmed emission from the f-centred excited state ((...

Experimental and theoretical study of lanthanide complexes based on linear and macrocyclic polyaminopolycarboxylic acids containing pyrazolylethyl arms.

We report the synthesis of two novel Gd(III)-complexes derived from linear and macrocyclic polyaminopolycarboxylic acids 1 and 2, which contain a 3,5- dimethylpyrazolyl-ethyl arm, and a study of their relaxivity properties. The relationships between the experimental and theoretical results have provided interesting information about the kinetic and thermodynamic stability of these complexes.

Gd(III)-induced Supramolecular Hydrogelation with Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Performance for Enzyme Detection

Here we report a supramolecular hydrogel based on Gd(III)-peptide complexes with dramatically enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) performance. The hydrogelations were formed by adding Gd(III) ion to the nanofiber dispersion of self-assembling peptides naphthalene-Gly-Phe-Phe-Tyr-Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp (Nap-GFFYGRGD) or naphthalene-Gly-Phe-Phe-Tyr-Gly-Arg-Gly-Glu (Nap-GFFYGRGE). We further showed that, by...

Optimizing the relaxivity of GdIII complexes appended to InP/ZnS quantum dots by linker tuning.

Three bimodal MRI/optical nanosized contrast agents with high per-nanoparticle relaxivity (up to 2523 mM(-1) s(-1) at 35 MHz and 932 mM(-1) s(-1) at 200 MHz) have been prepared connecting up to 115 tris-aqua Gd(III) complexes to fluorescent non-toxic InP/ZnS quantum dots. The structure of the linker has an important effect on the relaxivity of the final multimeric contrast agent.
